Last week we hosted our second More than a Meal event. We talked a lot about meals on the go and snacking. There are a lot of store bought protein & energy bars on store shelves that are filled with nothing other than sugar and preservatives. But I can’t say that about every bar, the Lara Bar is one of the few grab-and-go bars on the market that actually has a good thing going for it. The ingredients are simple, most of the bars have no more than 5 ingredients – some of the more complex flavors have a few but not many more.
Unfortunately, buying these bars off the shelf can really rack up the spending. Because the ingredients are so simple, they are fairly simple to replicate. This week we showed our guests how to make their own version of the Cashew Cookie Lara Bar – and the results were fantastic!
Get 2 the Core Fitness also recently saw a post from guest-blogger & dietitian, Anne Dugan. Anne talked about juicing and how easy it is to incorporate all of those valuable fruits & vegges into your diet through juicing. We let our guests sample a few of our own juice recipes, but you should get creative! Juicing has endless possibilities – a lot of which can be made simply in your everyday blender.
Be sure to sign up for our next More than a Meal taking place on Wednesday, April 9. The cost is $10 and guests will learn healthy recipes and techniques to incorporate into their everyday life!
